Blue Orchid are a local 5 piece band who offer a fresh and funked up feel to modern classics. The group have an eclectic taste in music between them and influences of soul, funk, rock, reggae, dance and drum and bass all play their part in their unique sound. The band comprises of soulful lead singer Bec Crispin who has been gigging in various bands in the area for over 10 years, local legend Matt Cook on lead guitar who's technical ability as a guitarist is second to none. Jo Barnett adds funky bass and Toby adds rhythm with congas and drums.

Bec's brother Ben (AKA MC Benny C - South West MC of the Year 2009!) adds a new dimension to the band with his lyrical genius and boundless energy. Usually found lurking at the front of durm and bass events such as NASS festival, BOARDMASTERS festival and THE GLADE festival with the mic in his hand Ben is known for his unique way of getting the crowd going.

With occassional guest members, who keep the group dynamic their sound is ever evolving. The group have built up quite a following of late and have a reputation for packing out some of the local venues they have played at. Experience covers of some of their biggest influences including Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Amy Winehouse, Jamiroquai, The White Stripes and The Sugar Hill Gang in their own very distinctive style.
